It is everywhere.
Born in Vienna, Raffaella della Gemma learnt playing the Violin from a very young age. She studied Jazz & Pop Violin at the Conservatory for Contemporary Music in Vienna and musicology at the mdw - University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna & University of Vienna which gave her a broad knowledge of music history, artists and songs of the last decades and centuries. She also did vocal classes in Copenhagen at the CVT institute and Arts & Communication in Paris.
Raffaella chose "della Gemma" as her artist name as it carries two matching meanings: Gemma means "let's go" in Austrian dialect. And on the other hand Gemma is the Latin/Italian word for a jewel or in English Star.

People often ask Raffaella for her origin as her way of playing the violin and singing but also physical appearance resembles Gypsy, Balkan and rather South or Eastern European musical styles as it is virtuos wild and full of joy and energy. However, against all stereotypes, Raffaella was born and grew up in Austria. But to serve all stereotypes, Raffaella loves skiing, hiking, drinking Austrian wine and eating Apfelstrudel.

Currently she focuses on her solo projects as a DJane, violinist and singer.
She also plays jazz violin and sings in various band projects: Baba Yaga & Good Vibes Club
